Show Notes

Anyone NOT a fan of the word "submit"? When we come across this word in Scripture, it can make us uncomfortable.

Knowing who we are produces living how we should, and part of that means submitting to one another in reverence of Christ (Eph. 5:21). This flows into every area of our lives and relationships—with family, with friends, with coworkers, and yes, with our spouses. We belong to Jesus and that shapes how we should look, but what does a marriage that reflects Christ actually look like?

If you're asking yourself the question, "Do I have to submit?" the answer is yes, because when we know who we are, we know what to do. And it's not so uncomfortable when you read just why we submit.

You get to love, because you've been loved. You get to serve, because you've been served.
